SUMMARY
----------
Is there any sports car manufacturer that's remained truer to its heritage than Porsche? The brand has single-handedly built an 84-year legacy out of performance-minded engineering while designing some of the most endearing cars ever produced. And today, as one of the most respected automobile entities on the planet, they enjoy a tremendous following that's spawned a positively gigantic support system. Introduced in late 1963, the legendary 911 kick started the marque's foray into high performance royalty. And with the advent of this Agate Grey stunner, the company seems more serious than ever about owning the sports car market. Displaying only 915 miles, this 2015 Carrera 4S wraps a high tech 6-cylinder and 7-speed PDK transmission in world-class luxury. If you're looking for a cool modern car that's comfortable, sporty and virtually guaranteed to be exclusive, this low-mileage coupe is just your style!
BODYWORK/TRIM
By mixing a slightly larger footprint with proven performance and familiar aesthetics, the latest and greatest 911 allows Porsche to keep up with the seemingly endless upsizing of automobiles while cementing the brand's identity as a purveyor of hardcore sports cars. Dressed in a classy coat of subdued 2-stage, there's no doubt the car puts a fresh twist on a traditional favorite. It's pristine body, which is refined enough to carry 007 on a crusade against terror, has been meticulously pampered and protected since it rolled off Porsche's Zuffenhausen assembly line. That body's professionally finished surfaces are straight, solid and still possess every bit of the drama and tension Michael Mauer's original design inspired. Fit and finish are the typical, high quality stuff you'd expect from a flagship automaker. And today, only months into life, this awesome Carrera is one of the coolest sports cars on the market!
ENGINE
Specific kinds of cars are immediately recognizable by visual cues, and this Porsche's rear-engine layout puts it in an elite class that features the likes of Lamborghini, Ferrari and sister-brand Audi. The car's already spry 6-cylinder benefits from Direct Fuel Injection and VarioCam Plus timing, which help twist a stout 400 horsepower into a smooth 325 lb./ft. of torque. Mechanically, there are no leaks or squeaks of any kind, and the car's capped and covered engine bay appears just as clean as the day it rolled off the assembly line. And, best of all, the impressive mill represents purpose-built performance that'll fire up in any weather, drive thousands of miles before anyone needs to turn its bolts, and probably lay waste to pretty much anything that's brave enough to stage a challenge.
DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
Under the car, wind-cheating panels conceal a roster of technologically forward components. The main feature is a permanent all-wheel drive system that's aided by standard torque vectoring and traction management. Stab the throttle and power spins through a 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission. Step on the other pedal and you'll encounter 4 and 6-piston Monobloc calipers, which efficiently utilize vented and cross-drilled rotors that are roughly 13 inches all around. Those brakes cradle electromechanical power steering, a fully independent sport suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management, which pairs a 10mm lowered ride height with Porsche Stability Management. All that first class hardware attaches to a hot-dip galvanized bodyshell that's strong yet lightweight. And everything rolls on optional 911 Turbo wheels, which crank two 245/35ZR20 Pirelli P Zeros, and two 305/30ZR20 Pirelli P Zeros, around optional, colored center caps.
INTERIOR
Inside this slick Carrera, it's all about a symbiotic relationship between cutting edge European performance and traditional 'old world' luxury. At the center of the car, leather-lined seats, which are trimmed in attractive aluminum, show hardly any wear at all. At the front of those seats, a stylish, French-stitched dash hangs crisp telemetry beside an optional BOSE sound system that's complete with navigation, Bluetooth, MP3 capability and a CD/DVD player. At the base of that dash, like-new carpet, which is protected by thick, “PORSCHE” branded floor mats, anchors a full-length console and aluminum-trimmed shifter between attractive, “Carrera 4S” sill plates. Above those sills, tight-fitting door panels cap rich aluminum trim with French-stitched window frames. In front of the driver, an optional SportDesign steering wheel spins bright accents between small paddle shifters and a colorful Porsche crest. And, throughout the inviting cockpit, you'll find the usual assortment of luxury and convenience features that we've all come to expect in high-end automobiles.
