Low, lean and looking mean, this slick drop-top is the product of a detailed, ground-up build that wraps quality Gibbons fiberglass in a crisp combination of red and black two-stage. That pigment gets split by trick pinstriping that, in addition to featuring subtle “Cabriolet” scripts, transitions from light blue to purple, then on to dark blue. And that line traces a fully removable hardtop that's sandwiched between tight cloth and sculpted vinyl.

Choice customization kicks off with a whittled, one-piece hood, which flows into a painted and stainless-trimmed grille that's centered between streamlined headlights. Those lights shade frenched parking lamps and a polished bumper that bends around sinuous fenders. Shaved, electronically-popped doors swing between smoked glass and painted running boards. Billet hot rod mirrors ride between polished wipers and an electric antenna. A custom Center High Mount Stop Lamp illuminates a decked, electronically-popped trunk. The color-keyed mill makes excellent use of a roster of high quality ancillaries, like a Walker radiator, billet pulleys, an electric fan and a billet breather. Power flows through a smooth C4 3-speed automatic, which twists a tough 9-inch axle. That drivetrain rolls in a clean TCI chassis, which frames a Mustang II-style front-clip in a big sway bar and small lowering blocks. Tight turns come courtesy of power rack-and-pinion steering. Stops are provided by power-assisted discs and power-assisted drums. The five-oh sips fossils from a fully polished fuel tank. Coated block hugger headers funnel spent gases through polished stainless pipes, which align polished mufflers with polished stainless tips. And at the corners, polished Weld Racing wheels carry 205/60R15 front and 235/70R15 rear BF Goodrich Radial T/As.

STYLE AND SUBSTANCE

Dressed in neutral leather, this Ford's tastefully customized interior is both tailored and taut.
