Fully sorted and ready to roll, this awesome Chevelle is the beneficiary of a detailed, frame-off restoration that was completed by the pros at Ontario, Canada's Boothill Auto. That high quality reboot, completed over the course of 18 months, stripped both the car's body and chassis all the way to bare metal. Once everything was solid and straight, rich Audi Lava Gray Pearl base was lovingly sprayed, buried in clear and buffed to a mirror-like shine. And today, this striking Chevy rolls as a five-star testament to great taste and enduring design!

The car's clean profile begins at a predictable Super Sport grille, which centers a prominent “SS396” emblem between a bright bumper, amber markers and modern, dual-mode headlights. At the top of that grille, a familiar Super Sport Hood bends a conservative “CHEVELLE” script opposite a smoked greenhouse. That glass, cleared by polished wipers, stacks clean stainless frames under painted drip rails. At the sides of the car, traditional Super Sport rocker trim parallels intricate cross-flags and stylish “Super Sport” quarter scripts beneath factory door handles and classy mirrors. And out back, a second bright bumper traces a requisite Super Sport valance that's dotted with a second “SS396” badge and finned LED taillights.

450… TO THE WHEELS

Enact this Chevelle's billet hood supports and you'll find an even 6.0 liters of proven LS2 small block that, according to the dyno, twists an impressive 450 horsepower directly to the car's rear wheels! At the front of that aluminum marvel, a remote Spectre filter funnels wind into polished tubes, which feed a familiar GM throttle body. A composite GM intake sends a finely tuned mixture of fuel and air into lightweight GM 243 heads, which cap a hotted up cam. Charge is provided by a modern alternator, which joins a modern AC compressor and modern power steering on KWiK Performance serpentine components. Factory-style coils fire quality MSD plug wires, which split coated Hooker Super Competition headers. A big aluminum radiator centers SPAL puller fans behind a billet overflow and a custom Boothill cap. A deep Milodon oil pan provides plenty of lubrication. A custom engine cover adds a big dose of style. And the clean, Cast Silver mill rumbles in a monochromatic engine bay that's finished with great details like a Wilwood master cylinder, an Allstar proportioning valve and an Optima gel cell battery.

BUILT TO DRIVE

Take a gander under this cool A-Body and you'll find a battle dressed chassis that mixes new age technology with old school durability. Power drops through a tough Tremec 5-speed, which spins a tough 12-bolt axle. Those cogs push a factory rear-clip that's been thoughtfully supplemented with RideTech springs, RideTech shocks, adjustable Heidts upper links and a beefy RideTech sway bar. Opposite that clip, Flaming River power rack-and-pinion steering guides tubular control arms, two more RideTech springs, two more RideTech shocks and a second beefy sway bar. At the corners, power-assisted Wilwood calipers clamp a quartet of drilled and slotted rotors. A coated fuel tank provides plenty of 'go juice'. Stainless exhaust pipes spent gases through an X-shaped crossover to rowdy MagnaFlow mufflers and polished stainless tips. And polished bonspeed blades spin 245/40R18 Nitto Invos in front of 295/35ZR18 Nitto Invos.

CUSTOM CLASSIC
