Amid a frame off, nut and bolt restoration, the decision was made to bring the Malibu into the 21st century by upgrading the suspension, brakes, interior comforts, and, of course, adding more power!

Under the hood, the 1965 Chevelle SS brandishes 454 cubic inches of big block Chevrolet brawn, producing far more horsepower than Chevrolet could have imagined in 1965. The big rat motor is fed by a Holley 4bbl carburetor, fired by Mallory ignition, and cooled by a custom aluminum radiator with dual electric cooling fans. Dual stainless-steel exhaust direct spent gases past a new Tremec 5-speed overdrive transmission and a 3.73 Posi-traction rearend.

Inside, updated gauges housed in a fully restored dashboard monitor everything going on under the hood, while the driver sits comfortably in over-bolstered bucket seats, all new upholstery, and added air conditioning.

The enhanced horsepower is easily wrangled by the addition of heavy-duty front and rear control arms, front coil-over-shocks, power steering, and four-wheel power disc brakes.
